Liverpool Line-up (Predicted) To Face Swansea: Emre Can Should Start

The festive season finally brought some cheer for Liverpool fans as the club just about beat Burnley for an important away win. Liverpool did well to hold off a decent Burnley side and won the game thanks to Raheem Sterling’s great finish in the second half but barring that bit of attacking play, Liverpool weren’t really great during the game.

Liverpool Kolo Toure Mignolet

They now come back to Anfield as they fixtures come thick and fast and face Swansea, Brendan Rodgers’ former club. Liverpool might have found a new formation and seem to be doing really well with the new formation; here is the prediction for the starting line-up for the Reds.

Simon Mignolet

The Belgian came on as a substitute for Brad Jones against Burnley and did have a couple of moments which wouldn’t have helped his confidence but with Jones’ injury, Liverpool will have to make do with Mignolet.

Mahmadou Sakho

As long you don’t expect Sakho to play with the ball, he is a great defender. Sakho was brilliant all night against Burnley and was the best defender by miles, just that he should not be expected to play the ball out from defence.

Martin Skrtel

Martin Skrtel has been the one defender who has regularly featured for the club since the start of last season and should continue being in the 3 man central defence.

Kolo Toure

Although he came off in the second half, Kolo Toure brings composure and experience to the back line and should be fit enough to start another game for Liverpool.

Lazar Markovic

The winger who endured a tough start to his time at Liverpool has shown glimpses of his quality and seems to be revelling in his new wing back role. Lazar is someone who likes to have a run at defenders and his directness is something that Liverpool need.

Jordan Henderson

Another player who seems to be getting better in his new wing back position, Henderson can use his energy down the flank and support the attack and help out the defence when needed, he should continue in his role against Swansea.

Emre Can

Can was brought on in the 2nd half against Burnley and he slotted in really well in place of Kolo Toure.  Lucas cannot play multiple games in a week and with his impressive performance against Burnley should get the nod to partner Gerrard in midfield.

Steven Gerrard

Although Liverpool would like to rest their skipper, they don’t really have a choice and he provides a lot of quality to the side. Gerrard doesn’t need to run about as much as needs to with a defensive midfielder partnering him and so lead the Liverpool line against Swansea.

Adam Lallana

Lallana was decent against Burnley and did have a couple of good chances to score. Lallana also has had a slow start to his career at Liverpool but his link up play with Sterling and Coutinho is getting better every game and playing Lallana would also help in an attacking sense as well.

Philippe Coutinho

The Brazilian drifted in and out of the game against Burnley but he was the one who provided a brilliant ball for Sterling to latch onto and score the goal for Liverpool. He is the creative outlet for Liverpool and will play the game against Swansea.

Raheem Sterling

The 20 year old can do it all. He scored a good goal against Burnley and was a livewire for the Reds all throughout the game. He will start up front for Liverpool, hoping to score a goal or two and make it two wins in a row for the Merseyside club.
