Why Liverpool Should Go All Out To Sign This Beast Striker Linked With Arsenal For A Long Time

Liverpool had striker problems this season with Daniel Sturridge missing half the season, Christian Benteke enduring a very tough first season at Anfield and Danny Ings missing the entire season with an ACL injury. Divock Origi was good, but he is still developing and it will take him at least 2 seasons before he becomes a world-class striker. Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool’s injury prone, deadly striker is one among the best only when he is fit, which is a rarity. The English striker has missed more matches at Liverpool than he has played. Although Daniel Sturridge did show his class in the latter half of the season, but Liverpool need it on a consistent basis.

It is expected that Benteke will leave Anfield this summer as the Belgian is not able to find his feet at Liverpool. Also, Daniel Sturridge’s future at Anfield is uncertain, making it important for Klopp to look for a world-class striker. Gonzalo Higuain has been linked with a move to Anfield during this transfer market. According to the Mirror, the Argentina international is keen on a move to Liverpool. The Mirror says Higuain wants to quit Napoli after scoring a Serie A record 36 goals in 35 games to help them finish as runners-up behind Juventus.

The former Real Madrid man moved to Napoli two-and-a-half years ago and has scored 68 goals in 120 games for the Italian club. The Argentina international is keen on playing under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool. Liverpool need a 20-goal-a-season striker, if they want to become title challengers next season. Sturridge has proved that he is the man, but he needs to improve on his fitness. If the striker is to leave Liverpool this summer, Gonzalo Higuain could well be the replacement.

Higuain likes to take the shots from distance and is quite good at it. He averages at least 5 shots on target every match which means the opposition goalkeeper is always kept busy. Also, Higuain’s finishing is exceptional and that helped him to score 38 goals in 40 appearances last season. Higuain is good at holding the ball and maintaining possession in dangerous areas. He likes to dribble the ball and does layoffs for his teammates. With the likes of Coutinho and Firmino at his back, Higuain is bound to get many goal scoring opportunities. And with Higuain’s finishing, we should have no doubts that he will manage to do the same thing at Liverpool which he did at Napoli last season.

Gonzalo Higuain is keen on a move to Liverpool. The striker had joined Napoli for a fee of 38 million euros, so Liverpool will have to let loose their funds a bit if they want to buy him. But with Higuain’s ability, Liverpool should not hesitate spending on the striker. Jurgen Klopp should go for the Argentina international if he wants to bring the glory days back to Anfield.
