Liverpool – Forget Balotelli, 2 Strikers Who Can Form A Formidable Partnership With Sturridge

Share

Now it is no secret that Liverpool’s plan of replacing Luis Suarez with Mario Balotelli has not gone according to plan. Brendan Rodgers was always sceptical about the end result and he stated at the very beginning that Balotelli could also prove to be a failure, but after the decision of starting Lambert over Balotelli, now it is no secret that Rodgers is not impressed with what he has seen so far. It is true that Balotelli will continue to play for Liverpool some more time and after the return of Daniel Sturridge he will have a decent player to partner him at the front, still his own contribution needs to rise up.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has taken a note of the situation and many believe that the exclusion of Balotelli from yesterday’s game signaled the lost patience in him. After the transfer out of Luis Suarez, Liverpool have now tried to compensate with a number of players, but sadly it looks like the team is not doing enough and they are a couple of players short of a miracle like last season. There must be a time that the manager would want to add a new striker in the ranks and we take a look at three such strikers who could play for Liverpool next season.

Benzema And Higuain

1. Karim Benzema

The Real Madrid striker said last season that he did not fancy a move to Liverpool and he extended his contract at Real. But the fact remains that he has not done justice to his place in the Real squad which has the likes of Ronaldo, Bale, James Rodriguez etc. If Real try and take someone new in the January transfer window, Benzema would be shown the door and Liverpool might be one of the best places for him in the changed circumstances.

2.Gonzalo Higuain

The former Real star was taken at Napoli to be a replacement of Edinson Cavani, but it is evident that Higuain is not happy at Napoli. He has made that a bit public at times, especially after Napoli was ousted from the Champions League. Higuain is certainly a top talent and he can do wonders for a club like Liverpool who are now struggling a bit for creativity at the top. It is to be seen whether Rafa Benitez actually lets go of his most important person to the club which he has loved very vocally.
