Liverpool Could Replace Coutinho With Any Of These 3 Gifted Players Including Madrid Star

Philippe Coutinho

Three Gifted Players That Liverpool Can Target As Coutinho’s Replacements

Liverpool had a stellar end to the previous season as they managed to qualify for the Champions League but not much has gone right for them ever since, as they have failed to land two of their top transfer targets this summer. As if that was not frustrating enough, the Reds are now in danger of losing their talisman Philippe Coutinho this summer.

The Brazilian is wanted by Catalan giants Barcelona, who want him to replace Neymar Jr, who joined PSG not so long ago, in a stunning deal. Barcelona have the funds to lure Coutinho to the Camp Nou and reports claim that the 25-year old has agreed on a deal with the Spanish side for a move this summer. Liverpool are adamant that they do not want to sell but here are three technically gifted players they should look to sign, if they lose Coutinho this summer:

Isco (Real Madrid)

The Spanish playmaker is among the best in the business at the moment but he was unable to get into the first team at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane last season. He is expected to stay back at the club and fight for his place but if a chance to play as the main man at Anfield arises, Isco might just be tempted. Technically as gifted as Coutinho, Isco is probably one of the best replacements for Coutinho at Anfield but Liverpool will not find it easy to lure him away from the Spanish capital.

James Rodriguez (Bayern Munich – loan)

The Colombian international finally moved out of the shadows at the Bernabeu and is starting a new career at the Allianz Arena in Germany. However, German giants Bayern Munich already have a star studded squad, which will make it tough for him to have an impact on the side. He only joined Bayern this summer and Liverpool cannot sign him this summer. But he is a more than decent replacement for Coutinho and Liverpool might be tempted to wait for him, as he will also be available at a cheaper price. If Coutinho stays put for 12 more months as Carragher recently said, then James would a great option for Liverpool. However, he will only be available if he fails to impress at Bayern.

Ousmane Dembele (Borussia Dortmund)

Finally, a choice that Barcelona are also looking at to replace Neymar, Dembele is one of the most exciting youngsters up for show in Europe at the moment and reports claim that Barcelona are close to agreeing on a €100m deal with Dortmund for his services. But if Barcelona are able to lure Coutinho to the Camp Nou, Dembele should stay put, which will give Jurgen Klopp a chance to raid his former club. Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic is a also a decent option but the French youngster is a complete player and can replace Coutinho instantly.
