Liverpool, Chelsea And Premier League Managers Take Notes: Why This Italian Can Be The Best Midfielder To Buy This Summer

Marco Verratti

There are a number of talented players  across various leagues in Europe who are wanted by top Premier League clubs, as they look to strengthen their squad prior to the start of the new season. Some of the clubs are looking to add new keepers or defenders to add more quality to their back-line, some want mid-fielders maybe, while others are in desperate need of strikers. The demand for players depends upon the needs of these big clubs, who are looking to win titles in every campaign, in every competition that they play.

One such fabulous talent who is in currently playing in the Ligue 1 is Marco Verratti, who is currently employed with the champions of France, Paris Saint-Germain. The 23 year old midfielder is a really good player and has caught the attention of a host of clubs across the continent, including some of the English giants.

Keeping aside the rumours, as to which club he could join, the main question remains is whether or not the Italy international will be able to perform in the top flight of English football, if a move does indeed happen.

Marco Verratti

Verratti has now established himself in Laurent Blanc’s side and is a regular starter at the Parc des Princes. The player’s strengths are mainly his passing, the way he dribbles the ball around the opposition players and his vision to put some magnificent through balls.

He has a habit of blocking the ball and retaining it at will and can also play some key passes, which might help him score or at least set up one of his team-mates instead. The midfield superstar has helped PSG win the French league every single year, since he joined them in 2012 and has won many other titles with the club as well, which only goes on to prove that he is surely a “winner”.

The player has made a total of 102 league appearances since joining the club and has scored twice, fulfilling his role in midfield defensively and performing well at the top level.

Though he has all these plus points, Verratti will have to focus on being more aggressive when challenging for long aerial balls, which is not his best quality at the moment. He is more of a player who likes to keep the ball on the ground.

Further, his concentration and discipline are also a problem at times. Taking matters into his own hand or getting booked for silly challenges or fouls is something which is not really welcomed in the Premier League and needs to be changed.

It will surely be up to the manager to keep that in mind when using this star player in his squad and whether a move to England does actually materialize or not, remains to be seen!!
