Liverpool And Manchester City Combined XI Featuring 6 Reds And 5 City Stars

Liverpool and Man City meet each other in a very crucial game in the Premier League. City are title challengers while Liverpool are closing in on a top four spot. A win for Liverpool would peg Manchester City back in their bid for the title and would propel them into a very favorable spot to fight for the UCL spot. If City manage to get the better of the Reds, they would be able to reduce the gap at the top to only 2 points with Chelsea not participating in the Premier League this weekend due to their Capital One Cup final against Spurs. Here is a team that would have the in-form members of both Liverpool and Man City.

Goalkeeper : Joe Hart (Man City)

Though Mignolet has redeemed himself quite well recently, Joe Hart has been consistently performing at a decent level. He recently saved a penalty from Leo Messi and would be having the confidence in him.

Defender : Emre Can (Liverpool)

Can has been playing as the third center back in a three man defence. While his natural position would be deep midfield, his good form and Lovren’s lack of it has pushed him into the defense where he has played well so far.

Defender : Pablo Zabaleta (Man City)

He has been a consistent attacking full back in the Premier League for the past few seasons. He had a sketchy night against Barcelona and would want to redeem himself.

Defender : Martin Skrtel (Liverpool)

The big Slovakian Center Back would be required to be at his usual aggressive level and dominate Aguero. While he lives by his passion, he would be required to be alert all the time. He is likely to miss Sakho alongside him.

Midfielder : Yaya Toure (Man City)

The big Ivorian is back and is likely to cause problems for opponents with his powerful and brute offensive attributes. He is going to be a threat to Liverpool.

Midfielder : Jordan Henderson (Liverpool)

The Liverpool vice-captain manages the central midfield for the team and has been in reliable form since the past couple of months. He would be expected to be at his best.

Midfielder : Phillipe Coutinho (Liverpool)

He has been in fine form and has established himself as a regular. He’s out with a minor injury, but would be expected to feature in this game. He’s scored past City before and the Reds would want him to do so again.

Midfielder : David Silva (Man City)

The Spaniard is phenomenal. He maneuvers smoothly through the opposition defense and midfield creating chances for his forwards. Liverpool would be wary of him.

Forward : Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

The young Englishman has been the heart and soul of Liverpool this season. Last season he scored a stunning goal against Man City and this would be another opportunity to terrorise Kompany and Hart once again.

Forward : Sergio Aguero (Man City)

Aguero is joint top scorer in the league and has been in strong form this season. We expect a goal from him every time he takes to the pitch.

Forward : Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

He is a key player for Liverpool and his form would be very important for how Liverpool perform on the day. He is a consistent goal threat.
