Many major online news websites reported that Liverpool will complete the signing of free-agent Victor Valdes after he undergoes a medical at the club by the end of this month. The former Barcelona stopper was side-lined since March after picking up an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which meant that the Catalan giants would not renew the 32-year-olds deal. Spanish international Valdes is at the final stages of his recovery and his representatives are confident that he will now pass any relevant medical tests.
A veteran goal-keeper with vast experience and world renowned ability, Valdes will be a great addition to the Reds side and here is why:-

If there is one thing that Brendan Rodgers’ Reds missed last season during the title run-in it was experience and many experienced heads. Valdes is an experienced winner who’s trophy cabinet is one of the most decorated around World Football. Liverpool are back in the Champions League after 5 long years and the Reds would have to do well to stay in it after having endured a rocky start to life in Europe. In times like these the experience and calmness a player like Valdes would bring to the dressing room would be absolutely priceless. 32 year-old Victor Valdes would be Liverpool’s 3rd senior-most player after skipper Steven Gerrard and defender KoloToure.
