Liverpool 1-0 QPR [Player Ratings]

Liverpool paid tribute to Jamie Carragher by winning the match and keeping a clean sheet against relegated QPR today. While they certainly have wasted a number of chances, ultimately the Reds have finished their season on a winning note courtesy a first half goal by Phillipe Coutinho, set up by debutant Jordan Ibe. This performance by the home team will certainly leave the supporters excited for the new season and plenty to talk about for the next three months. Here is a rating of the Liverpool players on how they fared on the final day of the season.

Pepe Reina– Did not have much to do as QPR hardly got the ball in Liverpool half. But was clinical in the limited opportunity he got to display his skill.

Rating- 7

Glen Johnson– Was brilliant in the runs that he made through the right flanks. Also notable in the defence.

Rating- 8

Jamie Carragher– Was absolutely tidy in his final game. Defensive technique remarkable. Almost scored a stunning goal with a brilliant long ranged shot that hit the woodwork.

Rating -9

Martin Skrtel- Did not get many opportunities to play in the season but was tidy in this match. No apparent defensive flaws.

Rating- 7

Jose Enrique– His attacking instincts impressive, though need to assist more and shoot less. Urgent requirement to pull up socks while operating in the defence.

Rating- 5

Jordan Henderson– Was impressive in bits, but the consistency was lacking throughout the match.

Rating- 7

Lucas Leiva– Had limited opportunity showcase his capabilities as the ball was in the QPR half most of the time.

Rating- 7

Stewart Downing- Pretty much involved in the Liverpool attacks. Was good on some occasions while found wanting on others.

Rating- 7

Phillipe Coutinho– His stunning goal separated the two sides. As the season has progressed, his performance has improved. Involved in practically everything on the pitch. Again a brilliant day for the Brazilian.

Rating- 9

Jordan Ibe– No one could have told this was his debut. Made an assist to Coutinho. His cutting ins from the wings were outstanding. Was solid in tackles and defensive section at times.

Rating- 8

Daniel Sturridge- He had an off day today. Practically no influence on the game. Did not get much opportunity either as he was well covered by the QPR defence.

Rating- 6
