#2 Records would tumble left, right and centre
Both Messi and Ronaldo have a penchant for breaking records. Of course, it is the challenging ones that drive them to play better, to give it their all. While most records have already been broken by the two, it is their desire to better their own mark that sets them apart from the rest of the crowd.
Individually, they hold most of the club records at the end of the season. Thus, it would be interesting to see who ends up as the team’s highest goal-scorer, the team’s highest assist-maker at the end of the season. This would only entice the two to compete against each other, and in the process help the team. Yes, it might backfire, but then again it will be exciting to witness the two going for individual glory while keeping the welfare of the team in mind.
