According to Express, Lille show green signal to Arsenal in their chase to sign the wonder kid Florian Thauvin. Reports from France suggest that Lille will sell Thauvin if the bidders agree to pay £13m for the French youngster.
These reports also revealed that Lille don’t want to sell Thauvin to any French clubs (Marseille), so they will be glad to see an offer from other European clubs.
Thauvin is also looking for a club with Champions league status and is ready to leave France. Arsenal, Newcastle United and Manchester City are the long term admirers of the kid’s talent. Arsenal scouts watched Thauvin regularly in U-20 world cup where he helped France to become the world champions. Arsenal are expected to follow up with an official bid in next few days.
Marseille have already offered £7.5m offer for the 20-year-old. But a timely bid from Arsenal now would be enough to seal the deal for Thauvin.
Contradicting these reports, Lille director Frederic Paquet dismissed all these rumors.
Last week he said,
“We’ve always been very clear — his departure has never been either considered or conceivable.
“Florian has just arrived at the club, he’s 100 percent a Lille player and we’re very happy about that. We’re counting a lot on his talent to enable the team to perform.”
