Predicted Hull City Lineup To Face Bolton Wanderers In The EFL Championship
The two Championship strugglers had contrasting fortunes in the EFL Cup in midweek, Hull City losing again while Bolton saw off Sheffield Wednesday to advance to the next round.
This is a great opportunity though for the Tigers to get a much-needed, confidence-boosting win at home and manager Leonid Slutsky may well go with a similar 4-2-3-1 to the one which lost narrowly at QPR in their last Championship game.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Leonid Slutsky
GK – Allan McGregor
The former Rangers man still possesses a fair amount of quality and will be important for Hull as the season goes on. Another start between the sticks is on the cards.
RB – Temitayo Aina
The young Chelsea right-back should get another go here and may need to be ambitious down this side, putting Bolton under pressure as much as possible.
CB – Michael Dawson
The ex-Tottenham man is still a rock at the back for the Tigers and, much like the ‘keeper, he will be hugely important for the club as the season wears on.
CB – Michael Hector
It’s important that he strikes up a good working partnership with Dawson in order for Hull to maximise whatever potential they have in this division.
LB – Max Clark
Well, he’s not Andy Robertson but he will do! The Scot’s departure was yet another blow for Hull but Clark is doing fine now and another solid performance is needed here.
CM – David Meyler
Solid rather than spectacular, Meyler can help Stewart along in this position and provide a shield for the defence.
CM – Kevin Stewart
One of very few positives in the transfer market for Hull, Stewart should do well at this level and is a fair replacement for Tom Huddlestone.
RW – Jarrod Bowen
The youngster did well in pre-season and scored last time at QPR. So a big performance is anticipated from the fans and another goal here would secure his status as a crowd favourite already.
CAM – Sebastian Larsson
Fans were divided on whether the Swede should be brought in, but there is no doubting his dead ball skills and they could come in handy here.
LW – Kamil Grosicki
Grosicki is important to the team and as long as he is available, he should start for the Tigers.
ST – Fraizer Campbell
Campbell has tons of experience if nothing else and will be hoping to get back on the regular goal trail this campaign.
