Earlier in January, the Mirror reported that Leicester City were all set to sign starlet Ali Reghba after the young forward impressed for his current club. However, no move ever materialised and the 19-year-old re-signed for Dublin side Bohemian.
The Irishman has since made three appearances for the club, showing a lot of promise. He impressed during his trial with the Foxes back in January, playing very well for the club’s League Two side against Swansea City.
In fact, Ali Reghba played so well on trial that it was a surprise that the young forward didn’t get a permanent deal with Leicester City.
A versatile forward, the 19-year-old can play anywhere across the front-line but flourishes as a centre-forward. It’s there that the teenager does some of his best work, thanks to a blend of physicality and athleticism.
Blessed with great pace and agility, Reghba uses it to great effect, threatening defenders and making himself a menace. He’s an intelligent footballer, constantly making space for others by pulling defenders apart.
For Leicester City more than any other club, Ali Reghba is downright perfect. Like Jamie Vardy, the Reghba’s work ethic is surprisingly high for someone so young, and in time that would only improve.
With Kelechi Iheanacho having failed to cement a place in the Leicester starting XI, the centre-forward spot is up for grabs.
The Nigerian arrived with a lot of expectation after an interesting spell at Manchester City, playing second fiddle to Sergio Aguero. Big things were expected of him but the Nigerian striker has flattered to deceive.
Leicester City need to move on and by adding someone like Ali Reghba, they can do just that. The young forward has it in him to move to the Premier League but the Foxes have to be committed to sealing the move.

Leicester City need to move on and the fact that Jamie Vardy is 32 years old means that they will have to do it sooner than later.
While they do have Kelechi Iheanacho, as mentioned, the former Manchester City man has not filled Vardy’s shoes and as a result, they need someone else. Adding Ali Reghba will help them move forward and possibly help bridge the gap.
