Leicester City vs Watford: Leicester predicted lineup

Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City would be aiming for a ninth consecutive league win when they play a lowly Watford at home on Thursday.

The high-flying Foxes have been in excellent form under Rodgers, winning 10 of their 14 league games till now.

Meanwhile, Watford, who sacked manager Quique Sanchez Flores recently following the club’s 2-1 defeat to Southampton, are currently languishing at the bottom of the table.

Leicester’s dominant displays this season have seen them emerge as leading contenders to challenge leaders Liverpool for the title race.

Meanwhile, Watford have managed just one win this entire season and look set to face relegation.

Considering Foxes’ current form, they look like clear favourites to win the game against a relegation-threatened Watford.

However, Watford would be hoping that their big-money signing Ismaila Sarr saves them after the Senegalese scored his first league goal in the defeat against Saints.

Team news

Rodgers would be a happy man as a majority of his players are currently fit and available for Thursday’s clash.

They have only one major concern in midfielder Mathew James, who has been marred by injuries this season. James is currently recovering from a calf injury and is out until next year.

However, Rodgers would be hoping that winger Demarai Gray, who caught flu a few days back is fit ahead of the encounter against the Hornets.

Predicted Leicester City line-up

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Dane has been the best shot-stopper in the league so far with 6 clean sheets to his name and is sure to feature.

Ricardo Pereira (RB)

Surely one of the picks this season, Pereira has been excellent at right-back. He has impressed with his forward runs and has 2 goals to his credit.

Caglar Soyuncu (CB)

He has been rock-solid at the back and has proved to be the perfect replacement for the departed Harry Maguire.

Jonny Evans (CB)

The seasoned centre-back is a definite choice due to his consistent displays. Has formed a formidable partnership alongside Soyuncu at the back.

Ben Chilwell (LB)

The Englishman has been superb so far and is an excellent crosser of the ball. His 3 assists this season speaks volumes about his attacking abilities.

Wilfred Ndidi (CDM)

Probably Rodgers’ most vital player in the middle, Ndidi has been exceptional in cutting down the opponents’ attacks.

Youri Tielemans (CAM)

The young Belgian has been an ever-present presence in the middle and has stood out with 3 goals and as many assists. A definite pick to start the game.

James Maddison (CAM)

The Foxes’ most creative player, Maddison likes to link up in the final third. He also has a keen eye for goal and a dangerous right foot.

Ayoze Perez (RW)

Perez has adjusted to quickly to the new surroundings since arriving this summer. Has scored 4 goals and offers good support to the forwards in the attack.

Harvey Barnes (LW)

A swift player, Barnes’ direct play has often caused problems for the opposition. Has 4 assists and 1 goal to date.

Jamie Vardy (ST)

Surely Rodgers’ first-choice in the side, Vardy is in top form. He seems unstoppable at the moment and is the league’s top-scorer with 13 goals.
