Leicester City signing this Championship hotshot for £15m would be a Maddison-like coup – opinion

Leicester City opinion: Should the Foxes sign Jarrod Bowen?

According to a report from Leicestershire Live, Leicester City are weighing up an offer to sign Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen in the summer. The Foxes are willing to bid as high as £15million for the winger who has had a brilliant season for the Tigers this season.

The Foxes’ average first half of the season under Claude Puel cost the Frenchman his job and he was replaced by Brendan Rodgers. Leicester’s fortunes have changed under the former Liverpool boss, having lost just two games since his arrival back in February.

Leicester will finish 8th in the league if things go their way on the final day of the season. Leicester should be aiming for a top-seven finish next season in the Premier League and Brendan Rodgers should have a good debut summer transfer window with the Foxes.

Rachid Ghezzal and Demarai Gray have both had dismal campaigns in the Premier League with the duo scoring just 5 goals combined all season. Marc Albrighton has been a brilliant team player mainly on the right wing. with Harvey Barnes being a brilliant addition to the squad since his return from loan.

Brendan Rodgers will need to bring in a winger in order to support Jamie Vardy and James Maddison in terms of goals next season. Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen will be a phenomenal addition to this Leicester side and he could make the right-wing role his own next season.

Bowen has had a brilliant season with Hull, having scored a brilliant 21 goals in the Championship this season.

The 22-year-old has mainly featured on the right-wing but his goalscoring prowess tempted Nigel Adkins to play in a centre-forward position from where he scored a crucial 77th goal to help the Tigers come back from a 2-0 deficit against Swansea.

Like most left-footed right-wingers, Bowen is at his best when he cuts inside the defender to make his way into the box. The youngster possesses rapid burst of pace and has the ability to dribble past a number of players before making his way into the box.

Bowen is incredibly calm and composed in front of goal and rarely ever fails to hit the mark from a decent position. The move to the Premier League will help Bowen to develop into a wonderful player in the coming years and he should do so in the upcoming summer window.
