Leeds would bag a massive coup by beating Championship rivals to sign this 24-year-old winger for free

Leeds United Opinion – Whites linked with Sheraldo Becker – Good Move?

According to a report in Derby Telegraph, Leeds United, along with Derby County, Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing ADO Den Haag winger Sheraldo Becker.

The 24-year-old, who is currently plying his trade in the Dutch top-flight league, has had a great season for his club. He has led Den Haag to an impressive ninth-placed finish in the league.

Since his contract is expired now, Becker is a free agent and could be signed by any club this summer, provided a mutual agreement in wage structure is done. (h/t Derby Telegraph)

With so many English clubs interested in the player, it is clear that he is a class act who possesses the ability to be an influential signing during this window.

Here’s why Leeds should beat their rivals in signature of the winger:

Bielsa’s men need quality in wide areas

Predominantly a right winger, Sheraldo Becker can play on the other side, or could also lead the line as a false nine, if required. In fact, he has played in all the three positions for Den Haag this season.

With seven goals and eight assists in 33 league appearances, the 24-year-old has shown that he can not only show his skills and create goal scoring chances, but also score few of them to help the team.

Leeds United dearly need a out-and-out winger, who can create chances, be quick on the ball and also score goals. For that reason, they should focus on getting a deal done for Becker.

With Pablo Hernandez on the right a fixed starter most weeks, the Dutchman can play on the other side and form a good combination. In Marcelo Bielsa’s 4-1-4-1 system, that’d be an ideal wing partnership.

Conclusion

Having suffered the playoff disappointment, the Whites need to pick themselves up quickly and look to target promotion next season. For that to happen, their options in wide attacking areas need to improve.

Thus, they need to beat the likes of Boro, Derby and Wednesday in signature of Sheraldo Becker.
