Leeds United opinion: The Whites should go for Conner Rennison
The Hartlepool Mail (h/t Team Talk) has reported that Leeds United have entered the race for Hartlepool United starlet Conner Rennison. However, the Whites aren’t the only ones in the race, with the Mail reporting that the 16-year-old has been targeted by Newcastle United, Middlesbrough and even Bristol City among others.
An all-action midfielder, the young starlet has been exceptional for Hartlepool and it’s no surprise to see more than a few sides after his signature.
However, like a few players this season, the midfielder can leave for free at the end of the season and that’s among the many reasons that Leeds United should make a move for him.
A forward-thinking midfielder, the 16-year-old is exactly what Leeds United need in the near future, especially given their current situation. At the moment, Marcelo Bielsa has had to depend on both Pablo Hernandez and Mateusz Klich to provide the assists.
However, barring that, few others have managed to make an impact. This has affected Leeds United in recent weeks, with the club losing their pole position to Norwich City.
A recent loss to Sheffield United saw them lose their second spot to the Blades, and they now sit five points off Daniel Farke and Norwich City.
But it could be worse for the Whites and adding someone like Conner Rennison will certainly help them move forward. This will be a massive blow for Hartlepool United, with midfield star Josh Hawkes also linked with a move away from the club [Bristol Live (h/t Team Talk)].
Another talented star, the 20-year-old has been in exceptional form this season, with five goals to his name. Losing one more could make things worse for the fifth-tier side, but it shows just how good Conner Rennison is.
But as revealed earlier, the likes of Newcastle United, Middlesbrough and Bristol City are in the race and that could complicate things. But it’s their future that Leeds United need to ensure and Conner Rennison could be that man.

Leeds United have had more than a few youngsters
On a free transfer, the youngster is a serious bargain and it’s a move that Leeds would regret not making.
