Leeds United Prediction: Probable line-up to face Sheffield Wednesday

Leeds United welcome Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road on Saturday hoping to retain their place at the top of the Championship table.

The Whites lost 1-0 to Arsenal in the FA Cup on Monday despite playing very well. It was an encouraging performance from the Championship outfit and Marcelo Bielsa should have been pleased with his team’s effort.

However, the Leeds boss will expect his team to bounce back and register a win against Sheffield Wednesday, who are two points adrift of the final playoff spot.

Leeds United Prediction: Probable XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Kiko Casilla (GK)

Casilla will walk back into the starting XI after Bielsa started young Illan Meslier in goal in the FA Cup defeat to Arsenal.

Luke Ayling (RB)

Ayling had a decent outing against Arsenal and will be hoping to build on that performance at the weekend.

Ben White (CB)

White has been a consistent performer for Leeds United throughout the season and should retain his place in central defence.

Liam Cooper (CB)

A leader at the back, Cooper must start alongside White in central defence against Sheffield Wednesday.

Ezgjan Alioski (LB)

Alioski had a good game against Arsenal but in an advanced role down the left. However, he should be handed a start at left-back this time.

Kalvin Phillips (CDM)

One of the first names on the team sheet, Phillips will retain his place in the holding role and look to dictate the tempo of the game.

Helder Costa (RW)

Costa came on as a second-half substitute against Arsenal but couldn’t make an impact. But he’s become an important player for the Whites in recent weeks and is a certainty to start on Saturday.

Mateusz Klich (LCM)

Klich likes to pick up important spaces on the pitch and exploit the opposition’s weaknesses. The Pole will retain his place in Bielsa’s XI.

Stuart Dallas (RCM)

Going by his current form, it’s highly unlikely to see Dallas miss out on a starting berth. He’ll complete Leeds’ midfield on Saturday.

Harrison is a player whose confidence is high at the moment. He has nailed down his place on the left flank.
