Leeds United News: Marcelo Bielsa provides injury update on two stars ahead of QPR clash

Leeds United News: Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa provided a major injury update and shared his thoughts on promotion rivals ahead of the two important clashes.

Forshaw’s return is imminent

The Argentine provided an update on the injured Adam Forshaw as the midfielder is expected to make his return next week. (h/t Leeds Live)

“Adam Forshaw is making the steps to try to get back to the group for next week.”

Forshaw joined the Elland Road club last year from Middlesbrough and has made 23 appearances this season.

The English midfielder sustained a knee injury and couldn’t make it to the squad for the last three weeks.

Update on Jack Clarke

The Whites manager said that Jack Clarke would resume training this week.

The teenage winger was taken to the hospital during the game against Middlesbrough and Bielsa said (h/t Leeds Live)

“Jack has to follow pre-established protocols.”

Promotion rivals

Leeds are currently third in the Championship table and the top four are separated by just six points. The manager spoke about the battle for promotion (h/t Leeds Live):

“What they developed so far, what they’ve shown so far makes them deserve the place they occupy now in the Championship.”

The Whites started the month with a defeat against the current table toppers Norwich City.

Following the defeat, Bielsa’s side was able to recover well with a point against Middlesbrough and a win over Swansea.
