Leeds United News: Marcelo Bielsa lauds players following win against West Brom

Leeds United News: Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa heaped praise on his players following the 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies headed to Elland Road to take on Whites in the vital Championship clash for promotion.

The hosts drew first blood as Pablo Hernandez scored a stunner from outside the box in the opening minute of the game.

In the 28th minute, Patrick Bamford doubled the lead benefiting from a Tyler Roberts pass. He went on to score the third goal of the game later in the second half.

Ezgjan Alioski scored the final goal in injury time thus thrashing the visitors 4-0 and ensuring Leeds topped the table.

“For me, the most important thing is the effort, attitude, behaviour, state of mind and effort from the whole team during the whole game.

“If I would have to sum up my opinion, it’s an exclusive win of the players.”

Bielsa happy with team spirit

He further added that Hernandez’s goal and performance created a “communion” between the Spaniard and the fans before lauding the team spirit. (h/t Leeds Live)

“We have to recognize the great competitive spirit of the team tonight. I’m not talking about the win or the final result, I’m talking about the behaviour of the players.”

The Whites suffered a big defeat against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday. Yet, have regrouped well in a space of a couple of days.

The win also marked the first clean sheet for the Whites in their last seven games.
