The Swedish centre-back picked up a severe knee injury which will keep him out of action for three weeks.

And it is expected that Berardi would fill the void of the 28-year-old.

The Swiss international turned out to be the go-to-guy for Marcelo Bielsa until the hamstring injury ruined his momentum in October.

The former Sampdoria defender has made nine appearances this season.

Hay, the famous Yorkshire Evening Post writer, offered his opinion on bringing the 30-year-old to the team.

While a set of fans abided by Hay’s opinion, there were others who raised questions regarding Berardi’s capabilities.

After enduring a month of tough fixtures, Marcelo Bielsa was optimistic about the promotion hopes of the Whites. But it took a different turn when they got subdued by the Blades last week.
