Leeds United News: Barry Douglas set to miss the rest of the season with knee injury

The left-back featured in Saturday’s game against Millwall. In fact, he provided the assist for Luke Ayling’s equalizer which was his fifth of the season.

Pablo Hernandez scored a brace thus helping the Peacocks to secure a 3-2 win against the Lions.

In the process, Douglas picked up the injury but strived till the final whistle of the game. However, the injury has got worse following the game and the Scotsman is expected to miss the remainder of the games this season.

Douglas joined the Whites prior to this season on a three-year deal and has made 27 appearances till now.

And Macedonian Ezgjan Alioski is speculated to fill the void left by the 29-year-old. Alioski has also fared well for the Elland Road and had a brilliant international break last week.

Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds manager, was in full praise of Hernandez following his heroics in the game. The Spaniard has notched up 11 goal and 12 assists this season so far.

The win against the Lions has allowed Leeds to move a point clear of their promotion rivals Sheffield United.
