Leeds United were in great form in a U23 game against Watford and ran out 6-0 winners.
The Championship side fielded many youngsters as they scored three goals in the first half alone.
The second half also saw the home side continue their scoring ways, with two quick goals in the opening seven minutes of football.
The final goal of the game came from Luke Ayling. The 28-year-old was allowed to play, thanks to U23 rules which allow three outfield players to be above the age limit.
Ayling wasn’t the youngest player on the pitch and the Hornets had a stinging reply to the Leeds star scoring a goal.
They tweeted that Ayling has more than 100 appearances for the first-team, and the Leeds Twitter account wasn’t going to take this lying down.
The Championship side had the perfect response to Watford’s tweet, which featured The Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry throwing the salt down.
Ayling recently returned from ankle surgery and it makes sense that he was given a chance to play in a reserve game before making it to the first-team.
Leeds will be interested in getting promoted and Ayling could play a crucial part in helping the Whites reach the Premier League.
