Lampard to make 3 changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Derby County XI to face Bolton Wanderers

Predicted Derby County line-up to face Bolton in the Championship

Derby County travel to Bolton at the weekend with an aim to continue their impressive form in the Championship.

Derby’s most remarkable performance of the season came at Old Trafford on Tuesday when they knocked Manchester United out of the EFL Cup via a penalty shootout.

Apart from moving into the last 16 of the League cup, Derby have made a decent start to the season in the Championship and are placed sixth after their weekend win over Brentford. The Rams will be confident of facing Bolton, who drew 0-0 against Ipswich Town last weekend.

Team News

George Evans and Curtis Davies still remain out and Marcus Olsson is a long-term casualty. Meanwhile, Tom Lawrence will be eligible for selection for the Bolton game having served his three-game suspension.

Probable Derby County XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Frank Lampard

Scott Carson (GK)

A reliable and commanding presence in the box, Carson will start in goal against Bolton.

Scott Carson

Jayden Bogle (RB)

Bogle is a player filled with a lot of potential. He is getting regular opportunities under Lampard, which is exactly what he requires to unlock his true potential.

Richard Keogh (CB)

Keogh is a leader at the back for Derby. His presence against Bolton will be vital as Lampard aims for three points this weekend.

Fikayo Tomori (CB)

Tomori has shown great potential so far in Derby colours. He has become a regular fixture under Lampard following Curtis Davies’ injury.

Scott Malone (LB)

Malone could come back at left-back and give Forsyth a much-needed break.

Bradley Johnson (CM)

Johnson offers the bite to Derby’s midfield and keeps the team ticking. His ball retention skills are excellent.

Craig Bryson (CM)

On his day, Bryson is one of the top midfielders in the Championship. He is a sure starter at Bolton.

Florian Jozefzoon (RW)

Jozefzoon is a tricky winger who will look to cause all kinds of problems for the Bolton defenders.

Mason Mount (CAM)

It was a big test for Mount against Manchester United and he passed it with flying colours. Mount is a special talent currently developing under the watchful eyes of Lampard. He is Derby’s creative hub and should start the game on Saturday.

Harry Wilson (LW)

Wilson enjoyed a dream night at Old Trafford on Tuesday. He has been fantastic since returning from injury and will look to continue his rich vein of form.
