Game-Week 6 – Here’s Who Made It To Our La Liga Team Of The Week, Including This Real Madrid Starlet

La Liga Team Of The Week – Who Makes The Cut?

Giants Real Madrid and Barcelona both managed to squeeze out wins against Alaves and Girona respectively, without providing enough of the usual entertainment. Celta Vigo, Getafe, Espanyol and Real Betis each scored 4 goals against their opponents, while Barcelona managed 3. Valencia managed a hard fought win over Real Sociedad and Fran Escriba -the former Getafe and current Villarreal manager, lost his job after his side got hammered by his former team this weekend.

Barcelona still lead the table after 18 points from 6 matches. Atletico Madrid with 14 points and Sevilla with 13 points complete the top three.

Let’s have a look at the players who make it to the La Liga Team of the week for game-week 6:

Formation: 3-4-3

Goalkeeper: Ruben Blanco (Celta Vigo)

The Celta Vigo goalkeeper made his first start in La Liga this weekend and looked comfortable, making many decent saves and keeping a clean sheet as his side thumped Eibar 4-0. Ruben is also better at distributing the ball, something which Celta needed.

Defenders:

Pablo Maffeo (Girona)

The young loanee had the task of marking Messi in the match against Barcelona and did his role pretty well. Although Barca won the match 3-0, Maffeo managed to subdue Messi for most of the match.

Aissa Mandi (Real Betis)

Mandi helped his side manage a rare clean sheet against Levante. He was aerially superb and marked Alex Alegria well.

Antunes (Getafe)

Marked Samu Castillejo out of the game and ensured defensive rigidity efficiently.

Midfielders:

Dani Ceballos (Real Madrid)

The young Spaniard had the perfect start to his Real Madrid career. He scored two goals and helped Real Madrid to salvage a 2-1 win over Deportivo Alaves.

Goncalo Guedes (Valencia)

Guedes was brilliant on the left flank and was a major force behind his side beating Real Sociedad 3-2 at the Anoeta. He also managed to assist two goals.

Pione Sisto (Celta Vigo)

Sisto looked sharp against Eibar. He picked out 2 assists and also saw a long range freekick fortuitously make its way into the net.

Koke (Atletico Madrid)

The Spain international controlled the game’s tempo and added midfield security in his side’s collective performance. Koke managed to display an excellent passing range and vision and also instigated his team’s forward play.

Forwards:

Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao)

Inaki Williams has been brilliant so far this season. He scored a golazo against Malaga besides scoring another goal. However, that wasn’t enough to guarantee his side’s win over a 10-man Malaga this weekend.

Angel (Getafe)

Angel scored a brace as Villarreal hammered Getafe 4-0 in a rather unexpected result. In both cases, his brilliant positioning and spatial awareness led to the goals.

Diego Rolan (Malaga)

The Uruguayan scored two goals against Athletic Bilbao, in what was his second appearance for the club. Rolan was pacey, sharp and his touch for goals was evident in Malaga’s display this weekend.
