Predicted Wolverhampton Lineup To Play Nottingham Forest
Wolves moved 8 points clear of the relegation zone with a win against Cardiff at the weekend and will look to maintain their forward momentum in this game.
Forest are now under the care of former Rangers boss Mark Warburton and managed a 1-1 draw at Preston North End on Saturday. It was no mean feat and so they will provide a stern test for Wolves in this West Midlands – East Midlands battle.
Probable Starting XI:
Formation: 4-2-3-1
GK – Andy Lonergan
The experienced former Preston and Bolton man was chosen on Saturday and may retain his place in goal.
RB – Conor Coady
The former Liverpool midfielder has been plying his trade as a right-back recently and to some good effect too. Another appearance on the right looks likely.
CB – Danny Batth
The skipper popped up with 2 goals at the weekend and is in flying form. He is influential and hence his role cannot be underestimated.
CB – Kortney Hause
The left-footer also has a couple of goals to his name and will start again at the back. The 21-year-old is progressing nicely and should make his 19th Championship appearance of the season.
LB – Matt Doherty
Although a right-back by trade, Doherty can continue to fill in on the left side of the defence in the absence of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson.
CM – Dave Edwards
Now 31, Edwards is in the form of his life and the 10 goals he has contributed from the middle of the park has been such a bonus for his side.
CM – Lee Evans
The young Welshman is improving and will partner Edwards once again in midfield.
RW – Helder Costa
With the greatest of respect to Wolves, it’s hard to imagine Costa sticking around for too long at Molineux. Another sterling goal from the Portuguese man on Saturday underlined his quality and it was his 10th of the campaign. A very important player.
CAM – Ivan Cavaleiro
He has scored a goal every 5 games and is not an average player in his position. He can contribute and will line-up alongside his fellow countryman Costa behind the striker.
LW – Ben Marshall
The former Blackburn man clearly has a good working relationship with Paul Lambert and can start again. Marshall is capable of finding a defence-splitting pass and will be important.
ST – Andreas Weimann
The Austrian has been struggling for goals in recent times, but at 25, he could yet have his best days in front of him and will be given another chance to impress by Lambert.
