Klopp To Make 4 Changes – Predicted Liverpool Line-Up To Face TSG Hoffenheim In The UCL

Predicted Liverpool Lineup To Face TSG Hoffenheim In Champions League Qualifiers

Liverpool will welcome German Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim to the Anfield on Wednesday, as the two sides clash in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoffs on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp’s side already have one foot in the group stages of Europe’s premier footballing competition, after they came back from the Rhein-Neckar Arena with a 2-1 win in the first leg. But Hoffenheim showed that they can be a major threat and that they cannot be taken lightly if the Reds are to progress to the main competition.

Liverpool come into the game on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday and will be hoping to complete the job against Julian Nagelsmann’s side on Wednesday.

Team News

Former Southampton duo Adam Lallana (thigh strain) and Nathaniel Clyne (hamstring injury) are still unavailable for selection, while playmaker Philippe Coutinho is also a doubt due to a back problem.

Here’s how Liverpool could line-up on Wednesday:

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet (GK)

The Belgian was the hero in Germany last week, saving a penalty. Will want to continue in the same vein of form.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The goalscorer from the first leg was rested for the weekend fixture. Should be reinstated to the lineup in the place of Joe Gomez.

Joel Matip (CB)

The Cameroonian is the best centre-half at Klopp’s disposal and is irremovable from the starting XI when fit and available.

Dejan Lovren (CB)

Did not start the league game against Palace on Saturday but he is very much likely to return to the fold on Wednesday.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

The summer signing enjoyed a fine debut against Palace and was a big threat down the left-hand side. Should start at left-back, ahead of Alberto Moreno and James Milner.

The German midfielder was another one who wasn’t involved over the weekend, most likely because the Hoffenheim clash was kept in view. Will start in the midfield.

Jordan Henderson (CM)

The club captain hasn’t looked to be at his best since his return from a long injury layoff. Will need to step up on Wednesday.

Giorgino Wijnaldum (CM)

The Dutch international has had an extremely poor start to the new season. Needs to start delivering on a regular basis.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah (RW)

The Egyptian winger has settled in nicely since joining in the summer. Having been on the bench for the game against Palace, Salah will start on Wednesday, ahead of Daniel Sturridge.

Roberto Firmino (CF)

The Brazilian will be raring to have another go against his former side and will be keen to come up with the goods.

Sadio Mane (LW)

The Senegalese attacker scored the only goal of the game against Crystal Palace. Most often than not, he is the difference maker for the Reds and Klopp will be hoping for the same.

Here’s how Liverpool might take the field against Hoffenheim:
