Klopp to make 1 big change – Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool lineup to face Newcastle United

Predicted Liverpool Lineup To Face Newcastle United In The Premier League

Liverpool will be hoping for a slip up from Manchester United when they host Newcastle at Anfield this weekend in the Premier League.

The Reds are in red-hot form, winning all of their last three matches, during which they have scored 11 goals while conceding just one. Trailing Manchester United by just 2 points, Liverpool could pip their arch-rivals for the second spot by the end of this week, should the Red Devils fail to win their game against Crystal Palace.

Newcastle, on the other hand, are coming into the game on the back of a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth. That being said, the Magpies are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches and certainly do have the ability to pull off a huge upset this weekend.

Team News

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp will be without the services of Nathaniel Clyne, who is not 100% after coming back from a long-term injury. Jordan Henderson has been struggling with an injury and his fitness will continuously be monitored. Danny Ings is also doubtful after missing out on the West Ham clash due to illness.

Formation: 4-3-3

Liverpool’s 4-3-3 formation has worked wonders for Jurgen Klopp this season. The shape is perfect to accommodate their classic attacking players while the three-man midfield also enables them to be more fluid in the middle third of the pitch.

Probable Liverpool XI

Coach: Jurgen Klopp

Loris Karius (GK)

His impressive performances in recent matches have helped Loris Karius establish himself as the first choice keeper for Liverpool in the second half of the season. The former Mainz keeper will be eager to keep another clean sheet this weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to retain his place in the starting lineup. The 19-year-old, who also started against West Ham last week, has been a sensational find for the Reds this season.

Joel Matip (RCB)

Dejan Lovren might once again have to settle for a place on the bench this weekend as Joel Matip is tipped to be given the nod ahead of the former Southampton defender. The former Schalke captain will be important as Liverpool look to keep the Newcastle at bay.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Virgil Van Dijk (LCB)

Joel Matip should be partnered by Liverpool’s record signing Virgil Van Dijk, in central defence. The Dutch International will definitely play a key role in Liverpool’s build-up play from the back while also being a key target man during set-pieces.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

Andrew Robertson’s impressive form of late has finally dethroned Alberto Moreno from the left-back position. The Scot will once again be preferred ahead of the Spaniard this weekend.

Emre Can (CDM)

With Jordan Henderson being doubtful to start, Emre Can might again have to start as the holding midfielder. The German International has been one of Liverpool’s most useful players in recent years and his presence in midfield will be a boost for the Reds.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (RCM)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to retain his place in the starting lineup. The former Gunners star should be deployed in midfield, alongside Emre Can. He will be Liverpool’s main source of creativity in the midfield.

Georginio Wijnaldum (LCM)

Illness kept Georginio Wijnaldum out against West Ham last week but he is expected to return to action this week against Newcastle.

Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Someone who needs absolutely no introduction, Mohamed Salah will be Liverpool’s weapon in chief when they meet Newcastle. The Egyptian wizard has already netted 23 goals in the Premier League this season and will be eager to increase his tally this weekend.

Roberto Firmino (ST)

Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino will lead the charge for Liverpool this weekend. The former Hoffenheim star has been a revelation under Jurgen Klopp this season. His cleverness and tenacity in the final third will definitely boost Liverpool’s chances of overcoming Newcastle.

Sadio Mane (LW)

Sadio Mane will be deployed on the left flank. The Senegalese international will partner Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah in the attack. Although he might not have been as effective as Firmino or Salah this season, Sadio Mane’s incredible pace still lends Liverpool an advantage in the final third.
