Predicted Tottenham Lineup To Take On Chelsea
Mauricio Pochettino is yet to win a trophy in his time at White Hart Lane but he has a good chance of changing that stat, when his side take on league leaders Chelsea at Wembley in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. A strong performance against Millwall set up this clash for Spurs, who have found some superb form in the league of late.
They are one of the few sides to have got the better of Antonio Conte’s Chelsea this season and they will hope to dump more misery on the Blues, who were humiliated at Old Trafford in the previous round. Here is the predicted lineup that Pochettino might field for this tie:
Team News:
First-team stars Eric Lamela and Danny Rose are still not fit and remain the only players missing from this game for Tottenham.
Possible Tottenham Lineup:
Manager: Mauricio Pochettino
Formation: 3-4-3
GK – Hugo Lloris
The French shot-stopper is up there with the best in England and he will have a huge role to play for Tottenham. He is a crucial part of the Spurs squad.
RCB – Eric Dier
The English star has been bang in form in the last couple of games and he should be used on the right side of the back-3 that Pochettino has used recently.
CB – Toby Alderweireld
The Belgian has done extremely well as a sweeper but he will be up against the likes of Diego Costa on the night against Chelsea and hence he needs to stay focused all game.
LCB – Jan Vertonghen
The first-choice centre back for Pochettino, Vertonghen should keep his place in the first team for this crunch tie.
RM – Kyle Walker
Arguably the best right-back in England, Walker has been effective in the 3-4-3 set-up and will hope to have a productive time this weekend.
CM – Victor Wanyama
The former Southampton man has been effective this season as a CDM and he will have to be sharp in this game against an exciting Chelsea attack.
CM – Mousa Dembele
The Belgian has acted well as a deep lying playmaker for Spurs and he will have to put in a shift in the midfield against the likes of N’Golo Kante in this game.
LM – Ben Davies
With Danny Rose still out injured, Davies has been used extensively in this role and he should keep his place on the side on the left-wing.
RW – Christian Eriksen
The Danish playmaker has been in superb form of late and he will have a huge role to play if Tottenham are to compete with the Blues.
LW – Dele Alli
The 20-year old had a sparkling game recently and he will be a danger man to Chelsea at Wembley this weekend.
ST – Harry Kane
The English striker gave Pochettino a boost by starting the previous game and he should lead the attack for Tottenham in what is a season-deciding game.
