Why Liverpool Have To Step Up Their Interest And Complete The Signing Of This Croatian Star

Perisic to liverpool

Jurgen Klopp is now a desperate man as his side, who have a chance of qualifying for Europe, need some quality additions this summer to compete with the best next season. Liverpool have been linked with a lot of players in the recent past and Inter’s Ivan Perisic is on the list as well. The German manager has already worked with the 28-year old during his time at the Signal Iduna Park and it is understood that Liverpool are ready to beat the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea to his signature this summer with a bid of £30 million for his services. But is he a worthy expenditure? Here is why Liverpool should not hesitate to spend on Ivan Perisic this summer.

Born in Yugoslavia, Perisic started his youth career at Hajduk Split as a teenager and rose to the limelight in his two-year spell at Club Brugge. He made just 42 appearances in the Bundesliga scoring 9 goals before being sold to Wolfsburg by Klopp himself in 2013. His performances saw the Milan outfit swoop for him in 2015 and Perisic has ever since been a first team regular at the San Siro making 59 appearances for his side. He has also been in great form, scoring 9 goals and picking up 4 assists in all competitions this season. He is also a mainstay in the Croatian national team and was their best player in the Euro’16 campaign last year.

Comfortable playing as a midfielder and also in an attacking role on the wing, Perisic is one of the most versatile players in the Serie A at the moment and is a player who would suit Klopp’s style of play at Anfield really well. His natural position is on the left-side of midfield and he could very well be slotted on the left wing of the 4-3-3 that Klopp plays.

Known for his quick thinking, accurate passing, and set-piece ability, the 28-year old is an all round player who will add some mettle to this Liverpool attack. He is strong in the air, making him perfect for the English league and is extremely productive when used for counter-attacks. Perisic loves to play quick passes in short quarters to get around the opposition but is more than capable of finding his man over tens of yards on the field. He likes to play on the wing but is more comfortable cutting into dangerous areas and Klopp will know all about him, having already worked with him.

Liverpool need an addition to their midfield. Though they might need a defensive one more than this, Perisic will add versatility to the Liverpool squad. That is compulsory for a club playing at the highest level in Europe. Even at £30m, the Croatian, with all his experience would be a good buy. Liverpool will hope to qualify for the Champions League next season and will need some experience players in their setup and Perisic, 28, could be the best choice for the Reds this summer.
