Despite the insistence of his agent Jorge Mendes, various news agencies are already reporting that a deal has been struck between the Special One and United and it is only a matter of time before he is presented as the club’s new manager.
The Sun has gone a step further and claimed that amongst the priorities of the Portuguese post taking over the realms at United is his desire to sign Wesley Sneijder from Galatasaray. The Manchester side’s attack has lacked bite over the recent weeks and Mourinho, who is a long time admirer of the Dutch midfielder, believes that the addition of Sneijder will reap rich attacking rewards.
The midfielder has scored 4 goals and assisted 6 in the current season of the Turkish Super League and would welcome a move to England under Mourinho with open arms. However, at 31 years of age, it remains to be seen if he can match the physical requirements of a much faster and physical league.
