Joe Ledley To Start – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Crystal Palace Line-Up To Face Arsenal

Predicted Crystal Palace Line-up vs Arsenal

Crystal Palace will welcome Arsenal to the Selhurst Park as they go head to head on Monday night in the Matchweek 32 of the Premier League.

The Eagles had been a run of fine form, winning four games on the run, until they were halted by Southampton in the midweek round of fixtures. And manager Sam Allardyce will be hoping that his team can muster up a comeback on Monday at home. The last time Palace played Arsene Wenger’s men, they were handed a 2-0 defeat at the Emirates and the home team will be keen to avoid a similar fate again.

Team News

Injuries galore for Palace with as many as 9 first-team players unavailable. Yohan Cabaye will miss out after being withdrawn at half-time against Southampton due to a calf problem, while defenders Scott Dann and James Tomkins will also unavailable due to knee and calf injuries respectively.

January signing Patrick van Aanholt isn’t completely fit either while James McArthur will be assessed before the game. Strikers Frazier Campbell and Loic Remy won’t be available for selection either while Connor Wickham and Papa Souare are long-term absentees. Joe Ledley will be available for selection after having missed the midweek game due to the birth of his child.

Here is how Palace could line up at the Selhurst Park:

Probable Crystal Palace Playing XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce

Wayne Hennessey (GK)

The Welshman has been brilliant in the last two games for Palace against Chelsea and Southampton. A definite starter between the sticks.

Joel Ward (RB)

The 27-year old right-back is an ever-present in the Palace line-up. He is a steady presence in the backline and will take the field against the Gunners.

Martin Kelly (CB)

Allardyce preferred to play the former Liverpool man ahead of veteran defender Damien Delaney in the heart of the defence against Southampton. He is likely to keep his place in the playing XI.

Mamadou Sakho (CB)

The Liverpool loanee has been a great addition to the backline for Palace since the winter window. He has been a solid presence in the team and will start again Arsenal.

Jeffrey Schlupp (LB)

With Patrick van Aanholt still unavailable, Jeffrey Schlupp will keep his place in the line-up at the left-back position. He will have his task cut against the likes of Theo Walcott.

Luka Milivojevic (DM)

The January signing has added a steeliness to the midfield since his arrival. He will be tasked with shielding the defence and neutralising the likes of Mesut Ozil.

Joe Ledley (DM)

The midfielder is back in contention for selection after missing out for the Saints’ clash. He will start the game to add some more solidity to the midfield.

Wilfried Zaha (RW)

The Ivorian had an off day against Southampton in the midweek game. However, he has been brilliant so far this term and could cause some serious problems to the Arsenal full-back Nacho Monreal.

Jason Puncheon (CAM)

The 30-year old has been a constant feature in the line-up for the Eagles this season and has been largely consistent. With regular skipper Scott Dann unavailable, he will lead the team out against the Gunners.

Andros Townsend (LW)

On the left-flank, it will be Andros Townsend. The Englishman has been a bit of a hit and miss over the course of the season and will have a tough battle against Hector Bellerin.

Christian Benteke (ST)

The Belgian international will be the focal point of the Palace attack. Benteke has scored in the last two games for the Eagles and will be looking to continue in the same vein of form.
