Jesus To Lead The Line, Aguero On The Bench – Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester City Lineup vs Napoli

Predicted Manchester City Line-up To Face Napoli In Champions League

Having put seven past Stoke City at home in the league this past weekend, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will be pumped up for their UCL clash but will not find it as easy as they face an in-form Napoli side, who have actually been better than City in their domestic league, if that is even possible.

The Italian outfit has won each of their 8 games this season, scoring 26 goals, and will take on a Manchester City side that is playing similar football. It is a clash of the in-form clubs in Europe and playing at home, City will want to believe that they hold an edge.

Team News

Pep Guardiola has no new injuries to worry about. Skipper Vincent Kompany and defender Benjamin Mendy are both sidelined with long-term injuries and they remain the only absentees from this game. Sergio Aguero was an unused sub at the weekend and might make it to the bench yet again.

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Pep Guardiola

GK – Claudio Bravo

Though Ederson has been the preferred first choice, Pochettino also trusts Bravo and could start him in goal for this game.

RB – Kyle Walker

Was impeccable in the 7-2 victory at the weekend and will hope to put in a similar performance against Napoli.

CB – John Stones

With Kompany injured, Stones will have to play on the right-hand side of the backline and will have to keep the likes of Insigne and Mertens away from goal.

John Stones

CB – Nicolas Otamendi

Otamendi has been effective in almost every game this season but he will face a tough task against a fluid Napoli attack.

LB – Danilo

Though Delph has been effective as a full-back in the last few games, Danilo’s European experience should see him start the game.

CDM – Fernandinho

The Brazilian ace has not found a place in the starting XI regularly this season but he should be included this week to add some mettle to their midfield.

CM – David Silva

The Spaniard is easily Guardiola’s biggest weapon in the midfield and he needs to be at his best to keep the visitors on their toes.

CM – Kevin de Bruyne

After a stupendous display at the weekend, De Bruyne will surely be hassled by Napoli and it will be important for him to settle in and play his game, for his side to take all three points from this fixture.

RW – Raheem Sterling

The young winger has been in dangerous form all this season and should start on the right flank, trying to expose the visitors on the break.

LW – Leroy Sane

Another pacey winger should accompany him on the left wing as Sane, who has also been in good form, will look to exploit Napoli from the other flank.

ST – Gabriel Jesus

With Aguero just back from an injury, Jesus should lead the line for his team, leaving the Argentine with a place on the bench.

Here is how Man City might line up:
