Predicted Stoke City Line-up To Face Tottenham Hotspur In The Premier League
After the loss to Liverpool last week, Stoke City managed to get back to winning ways, with a 2-1 victory over Swansea City in the previous round of the league campaign. The win took them to 13th place, with 16 points on board and Mark Hughes will look to build on this result, to pick up some points off of their trip to Wembley this weekend.
Tottenham have been in erratic form recently, dropping to 6th place in the points table and the Potters will fancy causing an upset, just like they did against Tottenham’s arch-rivals, Arsenal.
Team News
In early team news, Geoff Cameroon and Stefan Ireland remain the only absentees, with no new injury issues to worry about for the manager. However, Bruno Martins Indi picked up a niggle in the last game and could miss this fixture.
Formation: 3-4-3
GK – Jack Butland
The first choice shot-stopper for Hughes, Butland has been in decent form and should retain his place between the sticks.
CB – Kurt Zouma
The Chelsea loanee has been a regular for the Potters and should keep his place on the right-hand side of the back-3.
CB – Ryan Shawcross
The veteran defender has been solid at the back, playing at the heart of the defence for his side and will have his work cut out against the likes of Harry Kane in this game.
CB – Kevin Wimmer
The English international could face his former team for the first time, as he might replace the injured Martins Indi for this game.
RWB – Mame Biram Diouf
The make-shift wing-back for Stoke, Diouf was one of the best players for them in the previous game and should keep his place in this side.
CM – Joe Allen
The Welsh international put in a stupendous performance against the Swans to win his side that game and will hope to put in a similar shift in London.
CM – Darren Fletcher
The experienced midfielder has added some mettle to the whole Stoke lineup and Hughes has preferred him alongside Joe Allen in the midfield. Should start this game as well.
LWB – Erik Pieters
The first choice wing-back for the Potters, Pieters has been slightly inconsistent this season and going up against the likes of Alli and Eriksen, he should step-up his game.
RW – Xherdan Shaqiri
The Swiss international is the most creative player in the side and will have to be at his best for his side to take anything from this tie.
LW – Jese Rodriguez
Though he has lost his role in the first-team recently, Jese is a man for the big occasion and should start on the right flank.
ST – Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting
Having lost some form recently, Choupo-Moting will hope to get the better of Sanchez and Dier, playing as the lone striker.
