January Transfer Rumors – Biggest Stars Destined For A Move

It is still October and there is a solid 2 months before the transfer window opens. But the rumors never stop, the agents never remain silent, the players keep telling about their interests for another club. And most of the times, it is due to money, the lack of ambition showed by the parent club and willingness to move to a bigger club, either way the transfer mill never stops.

So let us see the potential players who can switch clubs when the transfer window opens in January.

Ashley Cole:

One of the most talked about transfer in recent times, the England and Chelsea left back could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge as his contract negotiations are not going smoothly with the club.  With club owner Roman Abramovich having established a new policy that the players above 30 will only be given a contract extension on one year, which has clearly not  pleased Cole and the left back is yet to sign a contract extension. And in a most Bizzare rumor the left back was linked with Manchester United a few days ago but it is safe to say Chelsea wont allow such a transfer and the possible destination of Ashley Cole could be the big spending Paris Saint Germain.

His former manager Carlo Ancelotti has always remained interested in the player but it Abramovich decides to alter his plans, then Cole will not find any reasons to move away from Stamford Bridge

Fernando Llorente:

When it comes to transfer rumors, Arsenal have always a place in it. Their long term target Fernando Llorente could be moving to the Emirates this winter if Arsenal continue the way they are playing now. Their main striker Giroud has still not settled in London and after two months and almost 15 appearances have only managed to score 4 goals which is clearly not acceptable and Wenger may be forced to buy Llorente to give competition to the French striker. Knowing Wenger, this is not the way he works as he doesn not go a spending spree and buy potential superstars. But looking Arsenal’s season so far the only improvemnt seemed to have come from the back, they have the best defensive record in the league but it is in front of the goal that the Gunners have struggled. Two goals from the last three games is not acceptable for challenging     silver ware.

And Llorente who admitted that he will not extend his contract will be on his last year with his Current club Atlectic Bilbao and the club has to sell the player if they want to make money out of the striker. With Juve also swirling around the striker it could be a bidding war in January.

Theo Walcott:

Another Arsenal player, another potential transfer rumor. Theo Walcott is the latest contract rebel at Arsenal and considering the Englishman’s contract which is due to expire next summer, Arsenal have to take a decision soon. The main issue is that the Winger wants more of a central role at Arsenal and Wenger has been adamant so far not allowing Walcott to play from center and also reports suggest that the player is not happy with his salary package and turned down a five-year, £75,000-a-week offer from the north London club.

Juventus and Liverpool have remained interested in the player and it is up-to Walcott to decide where he wants to ply is trade in the future.

Radamel Falcao

Falcao, unlike other players seemed to be happy at Atletico Madrid and it there could be huge amount of money involved in the transfer does take place. Atletico’s chairman Enrique Cerizo has stated that Falcao is not for sale but that hasn’t silenced the rumors. Though Torres has started this year brightly, he is yet to do any good to his tag value of 50 million. And from the day Falcao scored a hattick against Chelsea, it is said Abramovich wants to land the Colombian at Chelsea.

Real Madrid are also one of the interested parties and Falcao’s father memorably stated that it was his son’s dream to play for Real Madrid which will tempt the Glactiocs to put in a offer. However Falcao himself rebuffed that statement via Twitter and if Chelsea are ready to splash the cash on the Colombian, Atletico will find it difficult to turn down huge offers.

Edison Cavani
Cavani has been linked with Premier league Champions Manchester City from the start of the transfer window last summer but nothing materialized for the transfer to go through. The striker still has 5 years left in his contract with Napoli and it could take some money to lure the Italian club to sell their superstar.

It is always difficult to change clubs and move to another city. If a club really wanted to sign me, they should have made Napoli an offer they could not turn down. This simply did not happen. It does not affect me that Napoli value me at €60 million. These kinds of things are a matter between the club and my representatives.

Although Mancini has plenty of strength in his striking department, he has always been a fan of Cavani and if the unhappy Dzeko or Tevez decides to move out then this move could materialize.
