However the board have brought in serial winner Jose Mourinho this summer, as they embark on a journey to get back on top. The Portuguese manager has already signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly, three quality players who will definitely improve United over the coming years. However there still remain weak parts in the United team and Mourinho will be wise to plug these gaps before the season kicks off on August 13th.

One player who has been heavily linked with United recently is the Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. The French midfielder was once a Red Devil, before SAF felt that he was surplus to requirements and allowed him to join the Italian team on a free transfer. Fast forward few years, Pogba is now amongst the best young players in the world. The French midfielder was excellent during the recently concluded Euros, helping France reach the final. However former Spurs boss Redknapp recently made bizarre claim that he would pick Dele Alli over the Juventus powerhouse. “He’s a great player, there’s no doubt about that, but I wouldn’t swap him for Dele Alli,” Redknapp told in an interview. “If you asked me, Dele Alli or Pogba who do you want? Dele Alli was utterly disappointing for the Three Lions in the European Championship and will need to have an excellent next season, in order to prove his doubters wrong who feel he will be just a one season wonder.
