Is This Forgotten Manchester United Star A Perfect Fit For Tottenham?

Morgan Schneiderlin

Among the issues shown by Jose Mourinho’s team during his first season in charge of Manchester United, is the amount of quality players that aren’t getting playing time despite their great talent. Mourinho is continuously refusing to modify his squad even if the current starting XI isn’t getting the job done.

Names of the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Wayne Rooney, Memphis Depay, Matteo Darmian, Michael Carrick, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin aren’t being taking into consideration by Mourinho and it’s not crazy to think that several of them may be leaving the team during this next transfer window.

One of the names that’s being linked to several teams during this past few seasons is precisely the French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, who was called to be the next great star in Manchester United’s center of the pitch, but has been completely erased by Mourinho, who has chosen Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini to play alongside Pogba, and Michael Carrick has been his choice in the less important matches of the season.

Schneiderlin has only made 5 appearances for the red devils this season, but just two of them were starts and the other three came with less than 10 minutes left in the game, so you know there’s a lot of frustration in the talented French midfielder.

Morgan was set to leave the club before the transfer window closed, as he was constantly being seduced by his former boss Mauricio Pochettino, who was keen to take him back under his wing at his reinforced Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the move was shut down by Jose Mourinho itself, who talked to the French and convinced him that he counted with him for the first team, but several weeks after that conversation, things haven’t changed for the 26 year old despite being an outstandingly talented player.

That’s why it’s very likely that the Spurs make another push for Schneiderlin this January, as the midfielder was one of the favorite players for Pochettino during his successful stint with the Saints, and Morgan’s great performances made him take that next step in his career to go to a great club like Manchester United.

The 26 year old would have a lot of competition for the starting spot, as Tottenham currently owns his former team mate Victor Wanyama, the British Eric Dier and Dele Alli and his fellow compatriot Moussa Sissoko. However, the fact that he know’s Pochettino’s system so well make it a great fit for a team that actually has more chances to win a title this season that Manchester United.

It’s very sad that Morgan’s career has taken this huge step back after being a steady starter and arguably the best guy in that Southampton’s team, but with his defensive talent and his great eye and skill to find open teammates, there’s absolutely no denying that this guy could significantly improve any roster.

We hope that Schneiderlin can reunite with Pochettino and go back to playing at his best, as this Tottenham team is already something very nice to see, and this guy would absolutely thrive while playing at White Hart Lane.
