What Would Be The Perfect Rangers Lineup For Their Europa League Qualifiers
Rangers have been drawn to play Progres Niedercorn of Luxembourg in the qualifiers for the Europa League and the question most fans are asking is “what team will Caixinha pick?”
The light blues will be heavy favourites to win and I see no reason why, given the strength of the opposition, Pedro Caixinha won’t play all of his 6 new signings. More may come before the game kicks off but for now, it looks like the usual 4-2-3-1.

Manager: Pedro Caixinha
Formation: 4-2-3-1
GK – Wes Foderingham
Last season’s no.1 can start the European campaign between the sticks. No reason to replace him.
RB – James Tavernier
Caixinha has intimated publicly that Tavernier will be a part of the team going forward. He is naturally fit and should be alright to start the season.
CB – Fabio Cardoso
The 23-year-old is a real improver and has arrived from Vitoria Setubal. Playing alongside his countryman may be the way Rangers start, though David Bates is another live option for this game.
CB – Bruno Alves
The 35-year-old brings huge experience to the Rangers back line and is likely to be given an early intro to Ibrox.
LB – Myles Beerman
I’m not sure how fit Lee Wallace is, but Beerman did well at the back end of last season and could step in comfortably.
CM – Ryan Jack
The new man from Aberdeen was hugely popular at Pittodrie and will be so at Ibrox as well. Looking to push into the Scotland squad over the next one year, Jack will be Rangers’ linchpin this term and can start off in good style.
CM – Dalcio
Another Benfica student, Dalcio’s coolness and composure on the ball will be a real change for Rangers fans and he will be a joy to watch in this competition.
RW – Daniel Candeias
Having learned his trade at Benfica, Candeias arrives with the sort of pedigree that has not been seen at Rangers for years. He is a welcome addition to their squad and is sure to start.
CAM – Kenny Miller
Enjoying a slightly more withdrawn role these days, Miller still keeps coming up with the goods and will be a vital part of the squad once again next season, including the European campaign.
LW – Barrie McKay
More signings are sure to come and I would not be surprised if one is brought in for this position. But as of now, I can see Caixniha giving McKay another chance out on the left against the team from Luxembourg.
ST – Alfredo Morelos
Newly signed from Helsinki, Morelos has a good record and is only just getting warmed up in his career. Rangers have been badly missing a proper goal scorer and the Colombian could be the man. He is match fit and ready to go.
