Inter Milan Go Down, Napoli Climb To Second

It’s a turn around in the standings after game week 14 in Seria A. With Juventus standing firm at the top of the table, Napoli and Inter switch places for the second and the third spot.  The Nerazzurri went down to a stringed Parma side who are undefeated at home this season. While Naploi secured a 1-0 win over Cagliari to move to the second spot just two points behind leaders Juventus. Seria A is certainly catching up heat with just 4 points separating the top 4.

Inter paid the price for their lack of creativity in front of goal failing to break Parma’s defense despite enjoying a the majority of possession. Strikers  Diego Milito and Rodrigo Palacio did not receive crucial passes from their midfielders as they would have hoped for. With Juventus slipping up with a defeat at the hands of rivals AC Milan, Inter ruined their chance of going on top losing for the second time in three games since beating Juve 3-1 in Turin.

Nicola Sansone scored the only goal of the game 15 minutes from time to give Parma a deserved win at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Else where title contenders Napoli, scraped through to a 1-0 win over Cagliari thanks to Merek Hamsik’s second-half goal .  Napoli are now on second spot with 30 points from 14 league games just two points behind champions Juventus. Although Napoli were without striking sensation Cavani and Goran Pandev due to suspension and injuries, the Naples club managed to secure all three points with a strong defensive display.

 Cagliari showed glimpses of attacking threat through youngster Lorenzo but could not break the deadlock..

“It was a difficult game, but we did really well,” said Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri. “We suffered a bit during the second half, but I have to compliment my team. Turning to his side’s chances of winning Serie A, he added: “I’m really not thinking about the title. We’ll see where we are at the end of the season.”
