Injury Roadblocks For Borussia Dortmund

It is the story of injuries and unlucky goals conceded for the German champions – Borussia Dortmund this season. Hannover 97 ‘s late equalizer bridged a 9 point gap between them and Bayern Munich. But to make things worser, Jakub Blaszczykowski, Mats Hummels and Sven Bender are all injured after the game at Hanover.

Out of three, Jakub Blaszczykowsk injury is the serious one. He damaged his ligament in left ankle and rumored to be out for about 6 weeks. Hummels and Bender will be out for two weeks after suffering from back and eye injury respectively.

Meanwhile Mario Gotze is still adamant that BVB will catch Bayern to win the Bundesliga despite all these injuries and points dropped.

Gotze : We can still win the league

He said,

“We have made mistakes this season,”

“But we are strong team and we showed that at Manchester City.”

“We are in the Champions League and in the cup our performances continue to be strong. We will learn from our mistakes. No need to press the panic button now.”

“Bayern are certainly not unbeatable, but they have a certain edge.”

“But why should we fear them?  NO! We are trying again to get our points and close the gap. The rest remains to be seen.”
