New Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte is already working on a list of players to sign in the upcoming transfer window and Southampton’s star striker Pelle is a surprise inclusion in the list. Pelle and Conte have already worked together in the past with the Italian National side and share mutual respect for each other.
The Italian striker only has 12 months left on his current contract and should he not agree to sign a new one at St Mary’s, Southampton would be forced to sell should Chelsea put in a bid in the upcoming transfer window.
According to The Sun (cited by Dailystar), Chelsea will make a bid of GBP 8 Million for the striker who is set for talks with the his club in the coming weeks. As of now, it remains unclear if the Italian features in the long term plans of the club. Pelle was dropped from the squad for his side’s fixture against Manchester City after Ronald Koeman was not too pleased with his efforts in training.
