Two Players Who Could Follow Kyle Walker To Manchester City

Manchester City have been one busy club this summer and Pep Guardiola is not leaving any stone unturned as he looks to make sure that his side is fully equipped for the challenges that lie ahead in the upcoming campaign. The Spaniard knows that the squad at City needs a few additions and City have already completed three signings this summer.

Having already spent on Bernardo Silva and Ederson, Manchester City have now broken another record, making Tottenham Hotspur star Kyle Walker the most expensive defender in the history of the game. City completed the signing of Walker for a fee of £50m which could rise to £53m, which is the highest amount ever that has been paid for a full-back.

But the Citizens are not in any mood to slow down and are sure to spend on other players for other positions this summer and here are two such players who could follow Kyle Walker to the Etihad before the start of the new season.

Benjamin Mendy (AS Monaco)

The French full-back is turning into one of the hottest prospects in world football. At just 22, he has already established himself as one of the most exciting full-backs in Europe. He had a stellar season with AS Monaco and is now wanted by every top club in England, with Manchester City leading the race for his signature.

The Citizens have been looking at the Monaco man for a while now and have also had bids rejected for him in the recent past, but Pep Guardiola is adamant that Mendy is the right man, and reports suggest that City are close to agreeing on a move for the youngster, for a fee close to £50m. He could follow Kyle Walker to the Etihad this summer.

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

Though not as reliable a story as Mendy’s, Alexis Sanchez is still a favourite to join Manchester City this summer. The Chilean international was the best player for the Gunners last season but with Arsenal failing to qualify for Champions League, Sanchez has decided to quit the Emirates this summer.

He has now spoken about wanting to play in the Champions League regularly and with Guardiola ready to meet Arsenal’s valuation, there is not much stopping an ex-Barcelona reunion at the Etihad. This also coincides with rumours that claim that City are ready to off load Sergio Aguero, with Chelsea being interested.

Do you think Mendy and Sanchez will play for the City next season?
