Norwich City Player Ratings vs Sheffield Wednesday: Here’s how the Canaries fared

Norwich City went top of the Championship after a fantastic 4-0 win away at Sheffield Wednesday at the Hillsborough stadium. Teemu Pukki scored a brace, while Emiliano Buendia and Denis Srbeny scored the other goals to round up an impressive victory.

It was a 10-minute spell in the second half in which the Canaries were at their devastating best, scoring three goals to get the game out of the home team’s reach. This result leaves Daniel Farke’s men at the top of the table with good value, leaving the Owls in 17th position.

Norwich City Player Ratings

Tim Krul (7)

Had one or two iffy moments but he was solid throughout the game. The Dutchman made a couple of good saves.

Max-Aarons

Max Aarons (8)

His forward runs threatened the Wednesday defence all game. Was involved in Pukki’s second goal in sumptuous style.

Christoph Zimmermann (7.5)

Got into a tangle with the keeper once, however, the centre-back was solid at the back all game.

Timm Klose (7)

After a fairly unsure start, Klose was a secure and solid presence at the back alongside Zimmermann.

Jamal Lewis (7.5)

Beat the hamstring and played a great game. His runs up and down the pitch were impactful throughout.

Alex Tettey

Alex Tettey (7)

A very timid first half from the captain but he improved in the second half markedly.

Moritz Leitner (7.5)

It was his miscued shot which fell in the path of Pukki to score the opener. A fine display from Leitner overall, alongside Tettey.

Emiliano Buendia (8)

Was an ever-present threat to the Wednesday defence. Scored the goal which was very well taken.

Mario Vrancic (7)

A woeful penalty in the first half, but he did well after the break to set up a goal for Srbeny. A fine display overall.

Onel Hernandez (7)

He was always positive, looking to take on defenders and beat them. Should be disappointed to not have scored.

Teemu Pukki (9)

Worked hard all game and scored twice. A very good performance from the striker.
