Derby County Player Ratings vs Birmingham City: Here’s how the Rams fared

Derby County stretched their unbeaten league run to six games with an impressive 3-1 victory over Birmingham City at the Pride Park on Saturday.

But it was Birmingham City who found themselves ahead early on when Lukas Jutkiewicz finished past Scott Carson after controlling Che Adams’ cross.

The score remained 1-0 until the second half when two goals in three minutes turned the game on its head. Substitute Mason Bennett turned in Craig Forsyth’s cross from close range before Harry Wilson’s deflected free-kick in the 55^th minute gave Derby County a 2-1 lead.

Jack Marriott’s low finish then sealed the deal for the Rams with 17 minutes left on the clock.

Scott Carson – 6/10

Showed up when it mattered the most. Made a fine save at the end of the first half to keep Derby in the game.

Jayden Bogle – 5/10

Struggled defensively as Bogle had a few nervy moments. Was excellent going forward though.

Richard Keogh – 6/10

Keogh was unsteady at the back when Birmingham City pressed high up the pitch and attacked in numbers. However, the experienced centre-half improved after the break.

Curtis Davies – 6/10

Rustiness was expected after a long layoff but Davies did well after settling in.

Craig Forsyth – 7/10

A fantastic attacking outlet on the left for the Rams. Bagged two assists for Bennett and Marriott’s goals.

Tom Huddlestone – 6/10

Kept things simple in the first half when Derby were under pressure. Imposed himself after the break as Derby looked much sleeker going forward.

Harry Wilson – 7/10

When the chips were done in the first half, Wilson showed great purpose and energy to attack the visitors. Gave Derby the lead after the break as Jutkiewicz sliced his attempted clearance.

Duane Holmes – 7/10

A bundle of energy on his first start. Holmes looked really lively in the attack and caused problems for the Birmingham City defenders.

Martyn Waghorn – 3/10

Couldn’t do much before getting injured inside 15 minutes.

Tom Lawrence – 6/10

The first half simply passed by him as Lawrence literally made no impact. Put in an improved performance after the interval though.

Jack Marriott – 7/10

Caused endless problems to the Birmingham City backline with his movement. Scored once again to continue his brilliant run in front of the goal.

Replaced the injured Waghorn and showed great purpose and drive. Scored a crucial equaliser after the break.
