Impressive Forrest, Solid Tierney – The best & the worst rated Celtic stars in the 1-0 win vs Rosenborg

Celtic Player Ratings vs Rosenborg – Here’s how the Hoops fared

Celtic closed in on the knockout stages of the Europa League with a 1-0 win over Rosenborg away from home in Trondheim. Scott Sinclair scored the only goal of the game just three minutes before half-time.

With Red Bull Salzburg having defeated RB Leipzig, the Hoops’ fate is in their own hands going into the final game of the group. They need a point against RB Salzburg to qualify for the last 32 of the competition.

Celtic Player Ratings

Craig Gordon (7)

Didn’t have to do too much in the game and was fairly comfortable apart from the odd uneasy moments.

Mikael Lustig (6)

He was decent at right-back but his night ended prematurely due to an injury. He is a doubt for Sunday.

Filip Benkovic (7)

A secure presence at the back. Once went forward with the ball as Celtic attempted to score the killer second goal.

Dedryck Boyata (7)

Just like Benkovic, the Belgian was also a safe presence at the back. His partnership with the former is growing day by day.

Kieran Tierney (8)

Had plenty of room to move forward and put crosses into the box. The youngster was impressive in doing that and helping the attacks.

James Forrest (8)

Continues to enhance his reputation as a Celtic player. Delivered a peach of a cross for Sinclar to head home the winner.

James Forrest

Callum McGregor (7)

A steady performance in the deep midfield role. He controlled the game and never allowed easy passage to Rosenborg midfielders.

Tom Rogic (7)

A couple of efforts on goal were thwarted by the opposition keeper. Other than that, he was a steady presence alongside McGregor.

Scott Sinclair (8)

Had one or two chances early on in the first half before he calmly headed home just before the break.

Ryan Christie (6.5)

Had one or two pops at goal but wasn’t really able to create much. Showed a bit of naivety in the end as Celtic tried to see out the game.

Scott Sinclair

Odsonne Edouard (7)

He had one attempt blocked by Christie. Other than that, he was feeding off scraps and working hard.

Cristian Gamboa (Subbed on after 66 mins) (5)

Replaced the injured Lustig and remained on his toes to see out the game.

Leigh Griffiths (Subbed on after 66 mins) (5)

Had one long-range effort towards the goal.

Scott Brown (Subbed on after 77 mins) (4)

Came back after a seven-game absence and just shored up the midfield late on.
