Leeds United got back to the top of the Championship after a come from behind 2-1 win over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium. Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe scored for the visitors, who were pegged back early when Reece James scored a fine free-kick six minutes into the game.
The Peacocks were level three minutes later when Hernandez tapped in from close range. Marcelo Bielsa’s men completed the turnaround when Kemar Roofe capitalised on a defensive mix-up to walk the ball into an empty net.
This result puts the Elland Road club back on top, with Norwich City second on goal difference.
An unconvincing display from the goalkeeper who struggled for accuracy while distributing from the back. Wigan didn’t test his shot-stopping skills though, apart from one free-kick which was unstoppable.
A solid display from Cooper who won the aerial battle with Joe Garner. His foul led to Wigan’s goal but he was commanding throughout.
Alongside Cooper, Jansson was secure and commanding as well. He won many aerial duels and kept the Latics forwards under check.
Came back from injury and showed what Leeds were missing in his absence. His passing range is imperious and was involved in the equaliser and did not put a foot wrong.
He didn’t do anything extravagant but did his job to maximum effect. Linked up with Hernandez when required and was defensively solid.
Looked a bit sloppy early on but recovered quickly and stamped his authority in the game. He regularly sat in front of the back line and allowed the full-backs to move forward.
Another quiet afternoon for the Macedonian who kept trying but didn’t get much change out of Wigan right-back Reece James.
An impressive display from the central midfielder who was involved in everything Leeds did going forward. Teed up Hernandez’s goal and looked menacing on the ball.
A disappointing afternoon for Forshaw, who struggled in possession. He then tried to be conservative, which is not the Bielsa way. Samuel Saiz would be itching to take his place back.
Was not at his very best but showed moments of quality to create chances. Scored the equaliser and the Wigan defenders paid extra attention on him, understandably so.
Worked hard up top and scored the winner. His close-control is incredible, and it keeps the defenders on their toes.
