West Ham United opinion: Manuel Pellegrini’s dream XI for next season

West Ham United finished in 10th place after an up and down season altogether. The Hammers started off the season terribly but recovered well and looked good enough to break into the top-seven at one point.

However, a few disappointing results along the way combined with Marko Arnautovic’s transfer saga back in January rattled the cage a bit.

Manuel Pellegrini has a brilliant set of players in his squad and with just a few minor adjustments, the club can start the season as favourites to finish as the best of the rest next season.

Here are three players who West Ham should sign to form their dream eleven for next season.

Guillermo Maripan

The Chilean centre-half has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham over the last few months and he would be a phenomenal addition to their squad.

Maripan has a release clause in his contract which makes him available for €25million in the summer but the Hammers hope to get him for a lot lesser, having started negotiations with an €11.6million bid.

Maripan is a colossus in the centre of defence, standing at 6 feet 4 inches tall. The 25-year-old has been one of the key figures for Alaves who finished just three points off of 7th place this season.

Andre Gomes

The Hammers had an opening bid of £18million rejected by Barcelona in the last few days but if the club can negotiate a fee feasible enough, Gomes would be an unbelievable signing for them next season.

The Portuguese international has had a highly impressive season for Everton on loan and he would suit Pellegrini’s style perfectly.

Gomes’ creativity, vision and passing will be a dream for the forwards who play in front of him and the Hammers can be confident of achieving a top-seven finish next season.

Aleksandar Mitrovic

The Fulham man is expected to leave the club after their relegation and West Ham are among a number of clubs who have been linked with a move for him in the summer. A striker is a huge priority for the Hammers.

Mitrovic, who scored 11 goals for Fulham this season, would be an ideal fit for the Hammers.

His experience in the Premier League combined with his goalscoring record will be hugely beneficial for the Hammers, especially with the likes of Anderson and Yarmolenko feeding him.
