Tottenham opinion: Dream Spurs XI that Pochettino can create this summer
Tottenham reached the Champions League final and given the strength of their squad, that was a sensational achievement.
However, much like their eternal rivals Arsenal, the other North London side failed to capitalize on their good fortune and fell well short of Liverpool. Their Premier League campaign saw them suffer yet another epic downfall.
In fact, things got so bad that the North Londoners were knocked out of the automatic qualification spot by Chelsea on the final day of the season. They eventually finished 4th in the Premier League.
Despite all that, Mauricio Pochettino has a great set of players and with a few new additions, he can change things.
That being said, here are three players that Tottenham should sign to form a dream 11 to take on the Champions League and the Premier League.
Arguably the perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele, the 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Tottenham ever since the summer window opened. While nothing has happened yet, this is a move that Tottenham have to complete.
No matter what happens or who else the North Londoners sign, Ndombele has to be a part of the equation. A fantastic midfielder, the Frenchman encapsulates defensive and attack into a workaholic 5’9” package.
His boundless energy and incredible attitude for the game will help make the transition from the Ligue 1 to the Premier League that much easier. His potential to grow even further does make the move a rather exciting one.
However, any move for Tanguy Ndombele will be around €80m, which happens to be Olympique Lyon’s asking rate for one of their best stars.
With Danny Rose struggling to find his footing in the Premier League last season, it seems that Pochettino is looking for a new man. While there might be many options out there, few players in the world would fit as well as Lucas Digne would, with the Frenchman being linked with a move.
The 24-year-old has had a fantastic season with Everton despite only arriving from Barcelona last summer, adapting brilliantly. His ability both going forward and defensively has been one of the many reasons why Everton came as close as they did to a top seven spot.
But more importantly, the fact that Digne had a 64% tackle success rate, 60 interceptions and even 181 recoveries to add to his 55 chances created makes him perfect for Tottenham.
With a ridiculous £25m release clause to his name, it’s a surprise that a move hasn’t already been made for Hakim Ziyech. The 26-year-old has just come off a fantastic season and was a massive part of that Ajax team which made it all the way to the Champions League semi-finals.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Ziyech finished his season with 21 goals and 24 assists. Only Harry Kane scored more goals than the Moroccan midfielder, while no Tottenham player created more, with Christian Eriksen coming the closest.

It’s a stunning record for any player in the world, but combine that with Ziyech’s work ethic and it makes the move a perfect one.
