[Image] Strongest 4-3-3 Rangers XI for the pre-season friendly vs Bury featuring new arrivals

Predicted Rangers line-up to face Bury in pre-season friendly

Finally, the moment that all the Rangers fans have been waiting for is here. They will get their first chance to see the new Steven Gerrard era at the club take off in their first proper pre-season friendly, against Bury today.

A 3-1 win against TNS in a closed-doors run out helped raised expectations but the match against the English League Two outfit will provide the first real glimpse of the new manager and the team that he is building.

Gerrard has made a number of new signings already at his new club – Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor, Jamie Murphy, Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson, Jon Flanagan and Ovie Ejaria (on loan) have arrived this summer at the Ibrox. And most of the new faces, if not all, are likely to be in action when the Gers face off against Ryan Lowe’s side.

And here’s how the Light Blues could line up against Bury.

Probable Rangers XI

Manager: Steven Gerrard

Formation: 4-3-3

Allan McGregor (GK)

The 36-year-old should be in line for his second debut for Rangers, having returned from Hull City on a free transfer this summer.

James Tavernier (RB)

The Englishman was one of the Gers’ better players in the 2017/18 campaign and will want to start things off on a strong fashion this time as well.

James Tavernier

Connor Goldson (CB)

Arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion, the defender put on an impressive performance in the second-half against TNS. Should be handed a start against Bury.

Nikola Katic (CB)

The Croatian played the first 45 minutes in the win against TNS and impressed in his first appearance. Should pair up alongside Goldson in an all new-look central defensive pairing for the Gers.

Declan John (LB)

One of the standout players for the Light Blues last season, the Welsh left-back will be key for their chances this term and Gerrard will be hoping that he hits the ground running.

Greg Docherty (CM)

The Scottish midfielder waned off towards the end of the 2017/18 campaign, after beginning positively. A lot is expected from the promising young talent and he will be hoping to deliver in his first full season with the Gers.

Daniel Candeias

Ross McCrorie (DM)

The 20-year-old scored the third goal in the win over TNS, after having come on in the second period. Should be given a starting berth in the holding midfield role.

Ovie Ejaria (CM)

The highly-rated 20-year-old midfielder played no part in the closed-door friendly against TNS but should make his first appearance for the Gers against Bury.

Daniel Candeias (RW)

The player with the most number of assists in the 2017/18 Scottish Premiership season, Candeias will be hoping to begin his second season at Ibrox with a solid display on the right flank.

Jamie Murphy

Alfredo Morelos (ST)

The leading goalscorer for the Light Blues in the previous campaign, Morelos looked bright in the second period against TNS and will look to carry on from where he left off.

Jamie Murphy (LW)

Having arrived on a permanent deal from Brighton after impressing on loan in the second half of the previous campaign, Murphy announced his arrival with a goal against TNS and will be hoping to impress further against Bury.
