Middlesbrough predicted XI vs Spennymoor Town

Championship outfit Middlesbrough have embarked on their pre-season journey and their next game is against Spennymoor Town. They succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Austrian side Sturm Graz in their previous outing but Tony Pulis and his men must get back on track against Spennymoor.

The manager will have a full-strength squad to choose from and it will also provide a great opportunity for new signings Aden Flint and Paddy McNair to make an impact. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the possible starting XI.

Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis

Probable Middlesbrough XI

Manager: Tony Pulis

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Dimitrios Konstantopoulos (GK)

Konstantopoulos could find himself between the sticks once more. His experience and skills on the ball will certainly prove to be a great advantage for Middlesbrough.

Fabio (LB)

Fabio is a good left-back and his presence would set the tone for Boro on the left-hand side.

Dael Fry (CB)

The 20-year-old received a chance in the previous friendly and this would be a great chance for him to prove his worth once more.

Aden Flint (CB)

The new signing could find himself in the starting XI. The fans are eager to see what he can do and this will be a great stage for him to deliver.

Aden Flint

Ryan Shotton (RB)

Shotton is expected to complete the defence at right-back.

Paddy McNair (DM)

McNair is a brilliant signing for Middlesbrough and the former Manchester United sensation must receive a start against Spennymoor.

Grant Leadbitter (DM)

Leadbitter is one of Boro’s most reliable players and he must strive to forge a solid partnership with McNair.

Adama Traore (RW)

Traore should find himself at his usual right-wing spot. His pace, tenacity and creativity will prove to be crucial for Middlesbrough in the final third.

Adama Traore

Patrick Bamford (AM)

Bamford is a striker by trade but he could be deployed in this role. He has a creative streak in his style of play which could lead to several scoring opportunities for Pulis’ men.

Marvin Johnson (LW)

Johnson can be a formidable presence on the left-wing. His footwork and dribbling abilities are impeccable and he could be a crucial player for the club.

Ashley Fletcher (ST)

Fletcher should lead the line against Spennymoor. On his day, Fletcher is unstoppable and he must aim to score a goal or two to put his team in the driving seat.
