Arsenal vs Newcastle Prediction – Newcastle line-up

After scoring a last-minute equaliser against Bournemouth, Newcastle United would be aiming to stop an in-form Arsenal team at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night in a vital Premier League fixture.

Prior to getting a point against the Cherries, the Magpies came from two goals down to beat Everton at St.James’ Park.

Hence, they are a team who never get beaten easily, even when they come up against top-quality teams. Therefore, Arsenal will have to be at their best to claim three points on Monday.

From Newcastle’s viewpoint, they are seven points clear of safety with seven games to go. Thus, a game away to a top-six team wouldn’t really pressurise them as they know two wins would be more than enough to keep them up.

Team News

Sean Longstaff suffered a bad injury while playing against West Ham and is ruled out for the rest of this season. Fabian Schar was severely concussed while playing for Switzerland and won’t be risked for this game.

Probable Newcastle United XI

Formation: 5-4-1

Manager: Rafa Benitez

Martin Dubravka (GK)

He is Newcastle’s first-choice keeper and is certain to be in goal on Monday night at the Emirates.

DeAndre Yedlin (RWB)

The American international would be looking to defend first and then use his pace to exploit the wide spaces on the counter.

Florian Lejeune (RCB)

With Schar out and Paul Dummett back, we could see Lejeune switched to the right-hand side of the back three, just how he played against Bournemouth.

Jamaal Lascelles (CB)

The captain is back from injury and should be at heart of the three-man central defence.

Paul Dummett (LCB)

Dummett is expected to start on the left-hand side of the three-man defence against the Gunners.

Matt Ritchie (LWB)

Even though the left wing-back is not Ritchie’s best position, he has been doing a great job and could get another game there.

Ayoze Perez (RW)

This new formation has suited Perez as he gets more freedom to link up with the striker. His work rate is pretty impressive as well.

Isaac Hayden (CM)

The former Arsenal man has been a certain starter in the Newcastle midfield and he would be aiming to do well at the Emirates.

Mohamed Diame (CM)

With Longstaff out, we could see Diame starting in the midfield ahead of Ki Sung-Yueng and Jonjo Shelvey.

Miguel Almiron (LW)

The new signing has settled in well and he would be a real threat to the Arsenal back-line on Monday.

Salomon Rondon (ST)

The Venezuelan striker has been in great form in front of goal. He must be aiming to cause trouble to the Gunners defence, which can crack under pressure.
